Introduce an all-electric e-Link Shuttle platform to Halifax harbor.

Showcasing sustainable transport for waterways - net zero Shuttle Platform

Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and Hamilton, Bermuda    Ambassatours Gray Line (Ambassatours), one of Canada’s premier sightseeing tour companies, and e-Link Commuting Co. Ltd (e-Link), a company transforming passenger and small freight mobility on the water, announced plans to work together to provide a demonstration project with at least two (2) e-Link Shuttle ferries that will connect Cable Wharf to Georges Island and potentially provide sightseeing tours in Halifax Harbour and down the Northwest Arm. As governments, port authorities and consumers demand cleaner transportation solutions, leaders in these industries need to work together to accelerate the move to sustainable, net-zero waterway transportation. Ambassatours and e- Link are developing viable solutions to improve passenger and lite-cargo transport on waterways, from smarter electric design and advanced power storage managed through clean, green dockside charging.

“We are grateful to be working with Ambassatours who have the right mindset and routes to showcase our shuttle platform solution,” said Andrew Vaucrosson, e-Link Founder. “From the numerous ferry operators and locations around the world we have engaged with, we are excited in doing this launch in Canada due to our strong Canadian ties.”

“We recognize the need to innovate and find alternative ways of doing things to lower our impact to climate change,” noted Dennis Campbell, Ambassatours CEO. “This demonstration project is our effort to demonstrate this commitment not only to our community, to our customers, but more importantly to our planet.”

To launch this new class of ferry, e-Link has assembled a largely Canadian-based team of expertise with deep understanding and experience in the transportation sector. Due to the modular design of our Shuttle vessel, e-Link plans to assemble these vessels in the Maritimes.

“As we recover from the financial impact of the pandemic, there was need to examine ways to help reduce our cost of operations while creating a unique experience to both our local and visiting passengers,” added Dennis Campbell, Ambassatours CEO. “The e-Link shuttle platform is expected to reduce our operating cost, help to increase ridership, and with the growing support through public and private sources, we anticipate this will be a win-win for us and the environment.”

“This project with Ambassatours reinforces the strong ties between Halifax and Bermuda,” commented Alan Burland, e-Link Co-Founder. “From a maritime historical perspective to current economic, education, and trade, we are pleased to have a strong foundation to build upon and we are delighted to be working with such a fine company as Ambassatours.”
